Changan Automobiles achieved total sales of over 2.5 million units in 11 months, with new energy vehicle sales exceeding 640,000 units.
Changan Automobiles Head, Africa Sales, Stephanie Wang revealed this recently in Lagos during the grand launch of the all- new Changan luxurious SUV, CS95 and versatile X7 Plus at Avant- garde Royal Box event centre.
She said, “Our overseas sales also amounted to 340,000 units, marking a year-on-year growth of 53%. These achievements did not come easy to us. They are a reflection of our philosophy: customer-centred, product-focused, and market-oriented.’’
She stated that crafting vehicles that ignite the imagination is the driving force of the people behind Changan. According to him, this explains why 5% of annual revenue is dedicated to research and development.
“Supported by 14 manufacturing bases and 34 auto and engine plants around the world, Changan Auto now has 18,000 engineers from 31 countries and regions.
“Our talents come from leading automotive background, such as Mr.Clause , head of design , from Volks wagaon/ BMW/ Toyota. Our R&D facilities span in China, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the US and Germany. Changan has built the comprehensive production development system and test verification system to ensure that each product can stand rigorous use.
“With Changan’s global business expansion strategy, the Vast Ocean Plan, we have established our MEA base in Dubai and constructed a parts distribution centre in Jebel Ali Free Zone, in partnership with Hellmann, a German professional logistics and warehousing company with 150 years’ experience. The initial phase of the warehouse is with a storage area of 2,000 square metres, capable of holding over 3,000 SKUs (Stock Keeping Units) of spare parts,” she said.
In 2025, she assured, the warehouse will undergo further expansion to exceed 10,000 square metres, over 15,000 (Stock Keeping Units), which she stressed will be the leading in the industry.
