The journey into 2019 that will lead us to get a credible, suitable and trustworthy person that will take Gombe state to a greater height is no doubt a journey that the people of Gombe state are eager to undertake with a leader that will wear the shoes that Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo will remove and not only that but a committed, hardworking, dedicated, selfless, intelligent, corrupt free, and promising personality.
In the present era of democracy and political consolidations, where individuals and groups are making desperate efforts to capture or win the support and co operations of their people diplomatically in order to actualize their political missions, others are busy designing ways and strategies to deceive their people to perpetuate themselves in office.
Wars in the contemporary world have been shifted from the battle of guns to the battle of ideas. Yet, we are everyday being entertained with unedifying drama where the actors involved are trying to outsmart one another through unsavory acts and comments that are in total disregards for genuine efforts that will translate into visible gains, such as the upliftment of the welfare of the electorate.
It is the belief of the majority of Gombawas that the best person that will no doubt wear the shoes of Dr. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo and continue with the good works of taking Gombe to the next level of development is no other personality than Sardaunan Gombe Dr. Jamil Isyaka Gwamna, a graduate of Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, M. sc in Business Economics and a PhD in Economics, and Finance. These and other qualities make him stand tall among other people who are nursing the ambition of vying for the post of Governor in Gombe state come 2019. Dr. Jamil is so versatile in economic analysis and policy options associated with public private partnerships (PPP), public Finance Initiative (PFI) and other modern economic related issues that will make Gombe a shining star not only among its peers but the country at large.
A generous, easy going, accessible, humble, hardworking, educated and highly discipline economist of international repute as attested by his peers and associates is the right person for the job of the Governor of Gombe state.
These and other qualities of Dr. Jamil Gwamna was seen, tested and has provided a positive impact on the Economy of Gombe when he was appointed as Executive Chairman of Gombe state water Board by the former Governor of the state, Alhaji Habu Hashidu, 1999-2003, where he restructured the board to function well and meet the water need of the people of Gombe state and not only that but it was restructured in such a way that the board created more rooms and space to accommodate and give job to the teeming youths in the state.
He also extended a similar gesture to the people and youths of Gombe when he was a Chief Accountant with Kaduna Aluminum Company and even with his current status of the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) Dr. Jamil carry the good people of Gombe state alone and give them a means of livelihood. He also provides scholarship to deserving students of Gombe origin who are studying in various universities, polytechnic, and colleges of education across the country.
Jamil has said that his government will give attention to all stakeholders in the state to come together and focus on poverty, inequality, population growth and economic development stressing that agricultural transformation, human capital development, the environment as well as export promotion shall also be taken into consideration in order to boost the economy of the state to compete favorably among its peers.
Man of the people as described by majority of Gombawa’s, Dr. Jamil’s attitude of modesty, compassion and respect to humanity without tribal or ethnic differences are among the qualities that endeared him most to his people which of course makes him the best among all the people that are contesting for Gombe State governorship seat.
