Addressing the Jigawa State parliament members at the state House of Assembly, Dutse, Bankole said, “You should not be a rubber stamp to the executive. For you to leave a legacy for your predecessors, you must challenge the executive to do the right things for the electorate. You should keep on asking the executive meaningful questions that will force it to lead by example. One day, others will read your notes and commend you for a job well done,” he said.

Speaker Bankole, who was in Jigawa for the commissioning of the official residences of Jigawa Speaker and his deputy, said that there is no way the executive can face its duty seriously if the legislature turns to be its rubber stamp, saying as a single entity arm of government, parliament must not allow themselves to be used by the executive.

He however appealed to them to continue to enact laws that have direct bearing on the lives of the electorate, adding that there is no way Jigawa State can develop without the legislature making meaningful laws.
