Mrs. Yesufu also asked what the police have been doing regarding the missing Chibok girls. She said, “I’m a devastated mother whose daughters have been missing for 283 days and I have been calling out to the government 265 days on the streets of Abuja. But I’m yet to see any progressive report concerning my daughters. I am a Nigerian and I requested to see my daughters.” Aisha also asked INEC not to disenfranchise the IDPs, saying ‘they may be homeless but they are not stateless.”
Aisha Yesufu got a loud ovation from the audience. Staring directly at IG Abba she said, “Nigeria will only win when the police is not partisan and know that they represent Nigerians and not a selected few.’ She signed off her comments with a slogan ‘Utumbu’, a South African slogan for we shall overcome.
