Among thousands of men celebrated for excellence in their various fields of endeavors, there is one man standing tall, not only because he is vertically advantaged in physique, but because he is outstanding in character. He is Chief Dr. Benjamin Omale.
Dr. Omale who holds the traditional title of Ohonyeta K’Idoma is a business tycoon of international repute, a philanthropist with a difference, an administrator of over 30 years of standing, and an investor per excellence, with more than 5,000 workers.
Chief Omale’s philanthropic work and great contributions to human and community development have not only earned him recognition back home in the Idoma Kingdom of Benue State but also in other parts of Nigeria, where his philanthropic footprints are indelible.
This businessman with special interest in the petroleum sector, has received well over forty (40) awards both locally and internationally. Notable among the awards are, the Business Person of the Year Award by Leadership Newspaper-2020, the Business Excellence Award By Kaduna State Ministry of Commerce and Industry -2010; International Special Peace Envoy Award by the United Nations -2010 and the Honorary Doctorate Degree by the Commonwealth University, Belize -2012.
Aside from several other traditional titles he has bagged, Chief Dr Benjamin Omale, like the proverbial golden fish that has no hiding place, was recognized in his country home of Idoma Land as their worthy Ambassador, when he was coronated with the title ‘Ohonyeta K’Idoma’ in recognition of his numerous contributions to the development of the Kingdom.
Chief Dr. Omale, a graduate of Production and Operation Management from the prestigious Kaduna Polytechnic, holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Kaduna State University (KASU). He is today the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of many companies, including the famous, Edi-Jen Group of Companies, Jenny-Owi Company Nigeria Limited, Ejeg Company Nigeria Limited, Tonsjos Nigeria Limited, Sai Allah Construction & Engineering Company Nig. Limited and Omapet Multi Functional Gas Plant.
Omale, a technocrat, industrialist, nationalist, and a sport-loving philanthropist, who has single handedly sponsored the annual Tonsjos Football Tournament for more than 15 years, has remained consistent in his over two decades of empowerment to several groups and individuals.
But, as the renowned Historian, Ali Mazru’i said: “The Importance of good people in life is like the Importance of a heartbeat in humans, it is not visible, but it supports life”. That is the story of Chief Dr. Benjamin Omale, who has silently touched thousands of lives.
This detribalized Nigerian, a happily married man, blessed with six children, is an untapped asset for Benue and Nigeria. He sees public service responsibilities, as an opportunity to maximally deploy his experience and expertise to harness the available human and material resources for improvement of the public service, towards the realization of the vision and mission of the government.
Ohonyeta K’Idoma has the blessing of His Royal Majesty Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaji John, CON, the Och’Idoma, as he had on many occasions, being a father to all, he described Chief Omale as the worthy and dependable son of Idoma Kingdom. We are also proud of him, for he is a jolly good fellow.
