Former Nigerian international, Ann Chijiene warned the Nigerian girls not to lose focus, saying that their match against Colombia is very crucial to their qualification to the next round.

Chijiene a former Falcons goalkeeper said she was satisfied with the performance of Flamingoes against Azerbaijan, but charged the team not to lose concentration when they confront the South American country in the last group match.

“It was a biggest win for Flamingoes in the World Cup. The girls need to stay focused and ensure that they go for victory in their next match against Colombia. I am happy for them because they were able to humiliate the hosts on their home ground,” she said.

Chiejene said the Flamingoes can only go far in the tournament if there is enough support from the team. She said at this moment the girls needed Nigerians’ support and prayers to succeed in their remaining matches, adding that it will be a disappointment if the Flamingoes fail to go beyond the group stage.
