China’s ambassador to Nigeria, Zhou Pingjian, on Sunday stressed the need to build on the long diplomatic history of his country and Nigeria for their mutual benefit.
He stated this when he paid a courtesy call on Sokoto Governor Aminu Tambuwal in the state.
The envoy said China was eager to make greater investments in Sokoto, given the huge potential that abounds in the state.
He lauded Tambuwal for creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
The envoy assured that China was ready to facilitate enhanced collaboration between Sokoto and Chinese partners.
Speaking, Governor Tambuwal asserted: “Our policy thrust is to open our doors to willing investors."
"We are working round the clock to engage new development partners and attract more direct investments into our state, "he added.
Tambuwal reiterated his administration’s determination to make Sokoto an economic and industrial hub, as well as a preferred investment destination in the country.
The governor said the state government was working assiduously to implement past MoUs entered into with Chinese entities
