Speaking at the presentation at the school, the company’s Group Branch Manager Communication, Mr. Auscar Ikoro said in spite of being cleared of the Ebola virus, Nigeria can not rest on its oars.
“Considering that some West African countries still have this threats, we are still at risk and that is why we thought we should donate this equipment,” he said.
On his part, the company’s General Manager, Abuja, Mr. Justin Zhao said the company is making the donation as part of its coporate social responsibility and chose to help in the fight against the disease by making the donation to secondary schools to safeguard the future of the country by protecting its future leaders.
“We are donating these to about 5, 000 schools all over the federation and we hope that this little effort will go a long way in protecting our students and make our environment safer,” he said.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Chairman of the FCT Secondary Education Board, Mr Icha Adole commended the company for the gesture, saying securing the health of students is a priority and must be pursued diligently.
