A Chinese national identified as Dai Qisheng has been deported back to his country of origin, after it was discovered that he fled to Nigeria immediately he was caught leading an organised crime.
It was learnt that Qisheng, a notorious gang leader, was declared wanted in Guizhou Province, China, for allegedly orchestrating and leading violent organized crimes.
The fugitive, according to the Nigerian police, fled his home country in 2024 after a warrant for his arrest was issued by the Public Security Bureau of Zhijin County.
Police spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said on Sunday in a statement that the fugitive was determined to evade justice in his country and sought refuge in Nigeria.

Adejobi, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, said the operatives attached with the International Police (InterPol), National Central Bureau, Abuja, tracked, surveilled, and apprehended the fugitive on August 8th in the nation’s capital.
He said the arrest and repatriation of Dai Qisheng is a clear message to criminals worldwide that the Federal Republic of Nigeria will not be a hiding place for fugitives.
