CHRICED appoints Ajanaku Communications manager

The Resource Centre for Human Rights and Civic Education (CHRICED), with offices in Kano and Lagos, has appointed Mr. Armsfree Ajanaku as its Media and Communications Manager.

The Executive Director CHRICED, Dr. Ibrahim M. Zikirullahi, said, in a statement, that the appointment, which takes immediate effect, is in line with the organization’s resolve to give greater impetus and visibility to the civic engagements of CHRICED across its mandate.

An award winning journalist and communication expert, Mr. Ajanaku is joining the CHRICED team with several years of experience in development communications.

Ajanaku was the immediate past media manager of the Transition Monitoring Group (TMG).

A graduate of History and International Relations from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Ajanaku was a features writer at the The Guardian, where he was recognized for excellent development in journalism by UNICEF, the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

He went on to work as Project Manager for Civic Participation and Communications at the Heinrich Boell Stiftung, the international foundation affiliated to the Green Party in Germany.

Mr. Ajanaku was also a Blogger and Editor for Panos London, a development charity in the United Kingdom. He was a Climate Change Media Partnership (CCMP) Fellow to the UN Climate Conference in Durban South Africa.
