Christian law students tasked to live exemplary life

The National President, Mr Chukwuma Chinwo, gave the advice in Uyo while addressing the 19th annual conference of the Christian Law Students Fellowship of Nigeria (CLASFON) penultimate Saturday.

Speaking on the theme of the conference, “Arise and Conquer,” Chinwo urged the law students to prepare for a better justice system when they become full-fledged professionals.

“We are called to wage a good warfare and not to be entangled with the affairs of this world.

“You are going to find in life that food or matters connected with, pertaining or incidental to it, are going to be some of the greatest sources of distraction to your life as a Christian law student,’’ Chinwo said.

He said that the theme of the conference was apt and aimed at preparing the law students as potential lawyers and judges to know the truth and live for it.

Also speaking, the president of CLASFON, Mr Anietie Eshiet, said that the vision of the association is to create a new perspective of legal practice based on the fear of God.

“We want to develop the conscience of potential lawyers to be able to fight for the common man and restore sound values and morals to the society.

“We are already moving and we will be in all the courts in Nigeria,’’ Eshiet said.

CLASFON is an affiliate of Christian Lawyers Association of Nigeria founded in 1980. Its aim is to make lawyers to practice law with the fear of God. (NAN)
