Adenowo who spoke to reporters in Lagos during the foundation’s quarterly prayer session advised women to pray for the growth and development of Nigeria.

She called on Christians to be proactive and be part of the intelligence network for stopping the sect’s nefarious acts.

According to her, reprisal attacks by Christians against perceived perpetrators of the attackers should be de-emphasised as vengeance belongs to God.

She said, “Christians in Nigeria must be watchful and also be prayerful against the dreaded Boko Haram sect. The solution is not just prayers alone, we must be proactive and do all what we can to be involved in ways to solve the Boko Haram issue.”

She tasked women on the need to reawaken their consciousness to lend their voice to the crusade against the growing spate of violence in the country, saying they are the mothers of the nation who can put it on the right path.

On the purpose of the prayer, Adenowo explained it is meant to shield individuals and nations from bad fortune and direct them to the path of God.

The prayer session which lasted for three hours was livened up with intermittent sermons on how people can strengthen their faith in the Almighty God.

Adenowo urged Nigerians to pray fervently for the country and its leaders, saying prayers are capable of catapulting the country to enviable status among the comity of nations.
