The Ekiti State Police Command on Friday directed all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to immediately beef-up security in their areas of operation, and ensure adequate personnel are deployed to all identified places of celebrations throughout the festive period.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Bello Muhammed, gave the directive in a statement by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), DSP Caleb Ikechukwu.
He also declared total war on all manner of criminals, saying they should prepare to meet their waterloo if they dared come to the state to perpetrate their nefarious activities during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
According to the statement, the police boss has already woven a dragnet around the potential criminals, in a manner that would be difficult for them to carry out their crimes.
