Christopher University, Ogun State, has hosted the maiden edition of The Platform Nigeria’s Young Professionals Boot Camp to expose young and talented professionals to the skills and training required to succeed in the business environment.
“The five-day programme had in attendance about 300 participants aged between 20 and 25 years old selected from 2,300 applicants,” a statement from the institution said.
The Platform Nigeria’s Boot Camp is an initiative of the Covenant Christian Centre.
According to the statement, the mission of the university is to create a specialized institution committed to the pursuit of academic innovation, skill-based training and a tradition of excellence in teaching and research with private sector participation.
The boot camp participants were put through various aspects of international business best practices such as ethics; ideas generation; tools and techniques for evaluating new ideas (such as SWOT analysis); evidence modelling; marketing mix; copyrights and agreements; plagiarism; amongst others.
The management of the institution, according to the statement, places high premium on leadership and entrepreneurial training.
