A spiritual leader,  Olumba Olumba Obu of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star  has laid the foundation stone of a 20,000 capacity amphitheatre, otherwise called Olumba’s Supreme Temple in Calabar, Cross River State.
Obu said all that was required to complete the project was on ground and that the edifice would be declared open by April next year, even as he disclosed that work on it would be done day and night in order to meet the target commissioning date.
Addressing journalists at the church headquarters in Calabar at the weekend, the church spokperson, Bishop Princely Ibeabuchi, said the construction of the temple was estimated to cost close to N2billion.
He confirmed that the site of the construction remains where the current 3,000 capacity lecture hall of the BCS and other storey buildings are, saying that they had to give way for the magnificent structure billed to be tourist attraction and source of global salvation.
On how to raise required funds to complete the project, he said members of the church across the world have since been directed to suspend capital projects and channel all resources and energies towards early completion of the temple.
