The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), FCT Province 6, has commissioned a solar-powered borehole in Gwagwalada.

Performing the ceremony, the wife of the Continental Overseer (Continent 2, RCCG), Pastor Mrs. Esther Odeyemi, described the project as a manifestation of the “Year of Brand-New Beginning.” She stated that the borehole would go a long way in meeting the water needs of church members and the entire Redemption Avenue community in Gwagwalada.

Describing water as essential to life, Pastor Mrs. Odeyemi noted that the world would be a better place if priority were given to projects that alleviate the plight of the less privileged.

On his part, the Pastor-in-Charge of RCCG FCT Province 6, Pastor Adekunle Samson Lawal, said the church embarked on the project to address chronic water shortages in Gwagwalada, particularly within the Redemption Avenue area. 

Pastor Lawal further revealed that the church plans to utilize the borehole to establish a water factory to serve the broader region.

“Water shortage is imminent in Gwagwalada, and this borehole will reduce the stress residents of Redemption Avenue face in searching for water. This service is free of charge, and I believe those outside this immediate community will also benefit from this reliable water source,” he added.

Also speaking, the Assistant Pastor-in-Charge of the Province (CSR), Pastor Olawale Oluyombo, advised residents to ensure the proper use of the facility and guard against vandalism to sustain its purpose and longevity.
