Church donates foods, toiletries to vulnerable households

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has donated assorted foodstuffs and toiletries to the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) for distribution to vulnerable households.

The church’s donation included rice, beans, gari, vegetable oil, and noodles, as well as toiletries such as soap, toilet paper, and sanitary pads.

During a brief official handover ceremony in Abuja, Elder Isaac K. Morrison, a representative of the church, said the NCWS will oversee the distribution to vulnerable people in five states of Adamawa, Enugu, Plateau, Sokoto, and Akwa Ibom.

He added that the goal is to reach 400 vulnerable households in each of these states.

The National President of the NCWS, Princess Edna Azura, described the donation as a “lifeline” that will bring immediate relief and hope to many women and their families across the five states.
