The Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria (CIFFIN) on Thursday celebrated its 2nd Founders’ Day in Abuja, with the induction of 310 new members into the institute.

Speaking at the event, the Registrar, Chief Executive Officer and Secretary to the Council, Dr Isa Salifu, explained that the Founders’ Day was instituted to honour the 12 pioneer council members who worked tirelessly to secure the legal establishment of CIFFIN.

“The First Founders’ Day was about the process of certification, passing of a bill, and assenting to the bill to make it law through the National Assembly up to the Presidency,” he said.

On the institute’s mandate, Salifu noted that CIFFIN has focused on standard setting, training, certification, and regulation of forensic and fraud investigation practice in Nigeria.

“In the last two and a half years, this mandate has been carefully but ruthlessly executed through capacity building, strategic collaborations and partnerships with key institutions involved in the anti‑fraud and corruption fight,” he said.

On the day’s induction, Salifu disclosed that 30 practitioners were certified, 60 fellowship awardees admitted, and 220 direct membership trainees inducted, bringing the total to about 310 participants.

He charged the new members to uphold professionalism and integrity. “Taking an oath of admission presupposes that you are willing to engage in the fight against corruption. It is expected that you must leave and love this brand by ensuring excellence in whatever you do,” he said.
