According to Mr. Gbolahan Bilewu, the Head, Corporate Services, Mr. M. A. C. Dike was unanimously elected the 11th President of the Institute at an Extra-Ordinary Council Meeting held at the Secretariat of the Institute.
Other elected officers of Council included: Dr. (Mrs) Teju Somorin – Vice President, Chief C. I. Ede – Deputy Vice President and Mr. Adesina Adedayo who returned unopposed as the Honorary Treasurer.
Dike, the Director of Tax Policy in the Federal Inland Revenue Service, is a seasoned tax administrator and Chartered Accountant, He obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Economics from the University of Ife, (now Obafemi Awolowo University) Ile-Ife, Oyo State.
Before his election as the 11th President of the Institute, he has at various times, been the Chairman of Students Affairs and Examinations Committee, Dean of International Taxation & Treaties Faculty, Oil, Gas and Solid Minerals Faculty, Project Committee, and as the Vice President, he was a member of the Executive Committee (EXCO) of Council.
He was also the Class President of the Financial Investigative Techniques Inter Agency Training Programme for FIRS Investigation Officers, NDLEA, Nigerian Police Force, INTERPOL and Central Bank of Nigeria.
Presently, Dike is the Coordinator, Sub Technical Committee’s Working Teams on Tax Implications of the Adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards; Withholding Tax; Presumptive Taxation; Exchange of Information; Non Interest Banking and Tax Laws Redrafting.
The 11th President of the Institute is also coordinating the redrafting of Nigerian Tax Laws in Plain English.
