A private developer, Sea-Mountain Company Nigeria Limited in partnership with the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) has provided 133 housing units for civil servants and private business owners in Niger State.
The housing units which comprise of 52 units three-bedroom detached and 82 two -bedroom semi-detached bungalows were built under the National Housing Fund Scheme.
In his address at the occasion, the Acting Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Richard Esin said the concessioning terms of the NHF mortgage loans were in conformity with the FMBN’s mandate to providing Nigerians access to mortgage finance at affordable rates to enable them own houses of their own.
He said apart from the 133 housing units, located at Kpakungu area of Minna town, the FMBN also funded 92-housing units in Sintax Estate Zuba in addition to 102-housing units in Jedo pilot scheme in Suleja as well as 52-units Niima Shelter Limited in Minna.
He urged the state government to commence remittance of workers contribution to the NHF to enable them access mortgage loans from the fund.
Earlier, the Managing Director of Sea-Mountain, Kola Olagunju said the housing units which boast of necessary infrastructure were affordable and urged management of agencies in the state to take advantage of the facility.
He thanked the management and staff of the FMBN for their support towards the successful completion of the project.
