Pastor Lawrence Olasehinde Youth Development Foundation (PLOYDEF) annual essay competition award held at Utako, Abuja.
He said the foundation was set up to help youths and teenagers to imbibe good Christian characters and develop positive spiritual and  intellectual capacities which will prepare them to become Christians with exemplary lifestyles that will draw men to Jesus.
This year’s edition was for junior and senior secondary school categories. The topic for the junior category was ‘How can Christian children  and teenagers be good examples to their friends’ while that of the senior category is the way out on the prevailing security situation  in the country. He said, “Drug addiction among youths and teenagers is silently creeping into families and destroying the potential of many promising children in our society. It is an issue that is of grave concern to the society as its consequences do not end only with the addicted children but its consequences affect our society now and in the future. He called on parents to get educated on the issue to be able to detect  when their children and wards display signs of drug users as well as monitor the company their children keep.  The winner of the first prize in the junior category Adebomowo Elizabeth urged youths and children to get closer to God to learn His ways and live a fruitful life. Her colleague in the senior category Chinonye Kilba Nasara called on youths to take their studies seriously and avoid habits that would destroy their future. There were ten (10) consolation prizes in all the categories.
Earlier the chairman of the organising committee of the event, Dr Amba, had said the competition was on its second year running and that it took place simultaneously in the north-central and south-south. According to him, it is organised among the children, members and families of the Mountain of Fire  and Miracles Ministriescoordinated by MFM regional headquarters in Utako Abuja.
