Belema Abili, US-based Nigerian preacher, popularly known as Apostle Queen Belemzy, has called on political and religious leaders in Nigeria to embrace fear of God and transformational leadership style, emphasizing that virtues of selflessness, accountability, and godliness are needed for genuine national peace and prosperity.

Speaking at a news conference on Thursday in Abuja, the cleric warned that corruption, insecurity and economic hardship the nation is currently facing will persist without moral and spiritual reforms.

She therefore urged leaders at all levels to prioritise public good and a commitment to improving the welfare of the people rather than personal enrichments.

The cleric said, “I want to be free to walk around in my country like I used to before I moved to America, this insecurity is too much. Our leaders need to have the fear of God so they will do things to help the people, and not to enrich themselves.

“All these ritual killings, kidnappings are as a result of leaders who don’t fear God, and if they will give their hearts to God, then the transformation will come.”

The passionate Gospel evangelist lamented that many political leaders in Nigeria were surrounded by sycophants in form of political and religious advisors that stopped them from listening to godly counsels.

She added that “I also believe that those in positions of authority need to experience a true servant of God for them to go in the right direction.

“In the Bible, there was this governor called Felix, and there was this false prophet who was stopping him from making a godly decision. When a false prophet attaches himself to leaders they will make wrong decisions.

“But when a real servant of God is advising them, there will be changes. They will do things to help the people, and not to enrich themselves,” she said.

The cleric, also the founder of Queen Belemzy Ministries-School of Power, acclaimed for using social media platforms to bring the message of salvation, deliverance and restoration to her audiences around the world, said she was in the country by the leading of God to contribute her quota to the moral and spiritual rebirth of Nigeria.

According to Abili, her ministry is having a series of evangelistic outreaches in parts of the country, bringing healing, restoration and revival to the land.

“God said if my people who are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray and turn from their sins, then I will forgive them and heal their land.

“Let me tell you, Nigeria can be healed, it doesn’t matter if they are Muslims or Christians, they all will serve and listen to God,” she said.

While recounting her salvation experience and call into ministry, the passionate preacher said,” Back home in Nigeria, I was singing in choir, but I wasn’t saved. I was just going to church the normal way until I encountered Jesus and my life changed.

She expressed optimism that “if God could transform my life , and started using me to change lives across different nations ,He can transform Nigeria.”
