A Chief Imam of Lagos State House of Assembly, Dr. Abdulhakeem Abdullateef has said that injustice perpetuated by Nigerian leaders was to be blamed for the woes facing the country.

The imam stated this in a presentation titled, “Security, Peace and Harmony in a Multi-Religious and Tribal Society: an Islamic View” delivered at a programme organised by the Nasrul-Lahi-L-Faith Society (NASFAT) in Kaduna.

He described Nigeria as a blessed and favoured nation amongst all countries but now visited by hunger and fear due to lack of unity and deviation from religious script.

He, however, said the problems could be rectified when people mend their ways and embrace love for one another irrespective of tribe and religion.

“If we look at what started this crisis in Nigeria, it is injustice. Leaders should try to be fair and just in their actions, as such, unity and peace will reign,” he said.
