The Police in Edo state have arraigned a 34-year-old cleric for allegedly abducting and raping a married woman.
The accused person, Joseph Igwemoh was arraigned before an Oredo Magistrate Court on two-count charge. The woman, identified as Stella George was alleged to be a chorister in the accused person’s Global Influence Ministry and that it was the accused person that wedded her to her husband identified as Paul Nosakhare.
He was said to have kept Stella in his house for months and having carnal knowledge of her knowing that she is married.
Police said the offences contravened Sections 249 and 361 of the Criminal Code. The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge and requested for bail
Magistrate, Mrs. Isi Ukhun Iyoha, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with a surety in like sum and adjourned to November 29, for hearing.
