Sheikh Alli Umar, the chief imam of Al-Manar Mosque in Life Camp, Abuja has urged Nigerian leaders and politicians to be fair and just as well as uphold conscientious fear of Allah in governance.
In his Friday sermon, the imam reminded leaders that they will be judged by Allah on Judgment Day for their actions and decisions, and must therefore work towards fulfilling the needs of the people they serve.
He said being a just leader brings blessings in this life and the hereafter, while leaders who cheat, break rules, and harm people will face severe consequences.
Sheikh Alli quoted a hadith where Prophet Muhammad listed seven categories of people who will be under the shade of Allah on Judgment Day, with the just leader being the first mentioned.

He, therefore, enjoined the country’s leaders at all levels to draw lessons from the Holy Qur’an to navigate the challenges of leadership and governance.
He also advised Nigerians to pray for their leaders to lead with justice and fairness.
