Coach Abubakar Bala unveiled as Lobi Stars Technical Adviser
A former Olympic Eagles assistant coach, Abubakar Bala, has been unveiled as the new Technical Adviser of Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi.
The former Niger Tornadoes, Kwara United, Katsina United, Doma United, and recently Sunshine Stars coach was unveiled yesterday by the chairman of the club, Dr. Philip Nongu.
The club said it has kick started the rebuilding process aimed at instant return to the Nigerian topflight.
Lobi Stars FC, Heartland, Sunshine Stars and Akwa United were relegated to the Nigeria National League (NNL) at the end of last season.

Coach Bala’s immediate task is to lead Lobi Stars back to the elite division of Nigerian football.
During the unveiling, Dr. Nongu, spoke on the concerted efforts the management is making to ensure Lobi Stars return immediately to the NPFL.
The chairman also provided updates on the ongoing renovation work on Aper Aku and McCarthy stadiums, saying Akume Atongo Stadium in Katsina-Ala would serve as a backup home ground if the need arises.
On his part, Coach Bala, who had a short spell at the club under the immediate past chairman, Dominic Iorfa, promised to build a competitive team where selection would be based purely on merit.
“We don’t discuss formations outside the pitch. Our focus is on delivering results on it,” he said.
The highlight of the event was the signing of the contract papers between Lobi Stars and Coach Bala, followed by a minute silence in honour of Akin Olowokere, the bassistant 3SC who passed away in the early hours of the day.
