Nasarawa United coach, Mbwas Mangut, has expressed disappointment with his team’s performance in their 0-0 draw against Barau FC, saying it wasn’t what they wanted.
Visiting Barau FC forced title contenders Nasarawa United to a goalless draw in their Week 18 match at the Lafia Township Stadium on Tuesday, December 23.
Mangut attributed the barren draw to a slow start, citing issues with player positioning and a lack of urgency, particularly in the first half.
“We expected a strong team to fight like this, but we gave them room for their antics,” Mangut said.
“We’re looking at maintaining our position, but it’s unfortunate we couldn’t make it happen today.”
Mangut, however, remained optimistic, saying his team still has a chance to recover lost points and urged fans not to lose hope, emphasizing that the league is far from over.
Meanwhile, Barau FC coach Ladan Bosso, praised his team’s performance in the away draw as he said they deserved the point.
“We planned to get the three points, but we got one point, and I think we still give glory to God,” Bosso said.
The former Flying Eagles coach described the match as “very tough, a good match” between two compact teams.
