The Chief Coach of Kano Pillars football club, Ibrahim Musa, has blamed his side’s lacklustre performances in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season on lack of quality players.

He, however, said this is not the time to trade blame over the precarious situation Pillars have found themselves in the 2022 NPFL season.
Musa reiterated that instead of engaging in blame games, everyone in the club should join hands to rescue Pillars from the firm grip of relegation.
Despite massive government financial backing, Pillars who were deducted three points after irate fans believed to be their supporters attacked Katsina United in their MatchDay 23 fixture in Kano are presently second to the last on the table with 29 points from 27 matches.
“Our recruitment for the season wasn’t the best. We lack quality players in the team. But this is not the time to trade blame. Before us is a big task that we all must join hands to carry out. Pillars must be saved from relegation,” Musa was quoted by the club’s Media Officer, Alhaji Rilwanu Idris Malikawa.
Meanwhile, the League Management Company (LMC) has fixed May 26 for Pillars to conclude their abandoned week 23 fixture with Katsina United in Abuja.
The match will be restarted at the 79th minute which was the stage at which the match in Kano was aborted by the unruly fans.
LMC had also ordered Pillars to finance the rescheduled match.
