Coalition asks NMDPRA boss to resign to enable neutral investigation into allegations

The Coalition of Northern Youths Organisation has asked the chief executive officer (CEO), Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Mr. Farouk Ahmed, to resign within seven working days or face mass action.

In a statement, Muhammed Saad Aboki, Spokesperson of the coalition, said the call became necessary after a deep and thorough review of all that had happened recently, surrounding the CEO.

According to the group, his resignation would enable a neutral ground on which a proper investigation into the allegations leveled against him would be conducted.

“We honestly believe it is only if he is not in the picture that thorough investigation will be carried out without any obstruction in the process,” the group said.
