Some youths and elderly under the umbrella of the Yoruba Self-Determination Groups in the South West Monday protested against the increasing insecurity in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
They lamented killings, kidnappings, rape and destruction of property in the region, saying they must stop.

The youths said what happened in Owo, Ondo State, was an affront to the Yoruba race.
The Secretary-General, Coalition of Yoruba Self-Determination Groups, Chief Steve Abioye, while addressing protesters at Oje, said Yoruba people should wake up and protect themselves from being slaughtered daily by bandits.
The coordinator of the group, Johnson Ajilore, said Yoruba land had been under siege and the people had become determined never to allow themselves to be killed any longer.
On his part, a 75-year-old, Dr Alabi Arogunmasa, said the youths and the elderly must be prepared to defend themselves and their land.
One of the children of late Pa Adekunle Ajasin, Tokunbo, who was part of the protest, said it was time for the Yoruba people to defend their land.
