The Coalition of Civil Societies Networks has distanced Senator Shehu Umar Buba representing Bauchi South senatorial district from the sponsorship of banditry and kidnapping in the country.

The group at a press conference held in Abuja on Wednesday maintained that those behind the accusation were bent on tarnishing his image and reputation to score political goals.

Led by its secretary, Jabir Aminu, the coalition said those perpetrating are afraid that Senator Buba who chairs the Senate committee on national security and other related matters, might take a shot at the governorship of the state in the 2027 poll.

The coalition noted that Senator Buba’s contributions to Bauchi State, including the flag-off of community road construction, distribution of fertilizers, food relief to vulnerable households, and support to religious organizations, speak volumes about his commitment to the people of the state.

They thereby urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Senate President and the National Security Adviser (NSA) to disregard the allegations.
