Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Waidi Shuaibu, has visited troops of Theatre Command, North East ‘Operation Hadin Kai’ and assessed their operations in Borno State and North East.
Lt.-Gen Shuaibu, on his first visit to the theater as COAS, where he served as theater commandant months ago, expressed his commitment to end the lingering Boko Haram crisis.
Addressing newsmen after meeting with the Theatre Commander, Maj-Gen Abdulsalam Abubakar, principal staff and soldiers at the Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, the COAS promised to enhance welfare of the troops.
He noted that the support by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the military authorities to the operation was responsible for all the success recorded in the recent operations. He said scores of Boko Haram/ISWAP elements were neutralised with large cache of arms and ammunition recovered from the Area of Responsibility (AR).
