A statement signed by the senior public relations officer of the college, Suleiman Shehu, and distributed to newsmen yesterday in Bauchi said the presenter of the lecture Dr. Issa Funsho Yusuf of Federal Medical Centre, Azare described the Ebola Virus Diseases as a highly infectious and deadly diseases caused by the Ebola virus which affects humans and animals such as monkeys, bats, gorillas and Chimpanzees.
Dr Funsho said that the symptoms of Ebola virus diseases are fever, headache, cough, joint and muscles pain, chest pain, stomach pain, weakness, bloody diarrhea, bleeding from the eyes, ears, nose and mouth.
He said the preventions against the deadly disease are through keeping  your environment clean, avoid eating improperly cooked bush meat, washing your hands with soap/ash and water regularly, avoid contact with infected persons or animals (dead or alive), avoid contact with the blood, urine, saliva, or faeces of animals.
 Finally he encouraged all the community to report to the nearest hospital whenever they notice such symptoms.
The Provost of the College Dr. Abdullahi Mohammed Isiyaku commended the effort of the school and described the lectures as timely considering the nature of the killer disease.
Dr Isiyaku commended their effort for finding proper protection against the deadly disease.
He said the lectures will help the community to equip itself with the nature of the diseases in ensuring that all the guidelines for the protection against the diseases will be adequately adopted since it has no cure.
The chairman of the occasion Dr. Waziri Dogo Muhammad, former executive secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme congratulated the entire college community for having such profitable initiative in organizing the lecture.
