COHEADS appoints Elelu chairman

The Council of Heads of Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology in Nigeria (COHEADS) has appointed the Rector, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Alhaji Mas`ud Elelu, as its new chairman.
A letter issued and signed by the secretary of the council, Rabiu Muhammed Danmalam, stated that the appointment took effect from April 14, 2016.
It reads, “The Council of Heads of Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology in Nigeria  (COHEADS) at its 133rd regular meeting held at Yaba College of Technology on 12th to 15th April, 2016 confirmed your appointment as the new chairman of the council with effect from today 14th April, 2016.
“Your appointment to head this body of high caliber personalities was due to your commitment, hard work, perseverance and goodwill to the development of technical and vocational education in Nigeria.”
In his acceptance speech, Elelu said the appointment was a call to serve humanity and re-dedication of efforts to the development of technological education in the country.
Elelu identified training and capital projects as some of the areas where Kwara State Polytechnic would be benefiting  from his new status.
He thanked the council for finding him worthy to head such body of high caliber personalities.
Elelu’s tenure as chairman of COHEADS expires when he leaves the rectorship post.
