The National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) has revealed plans to combat plagiarism with the aid of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) by acquiring anti-piracy software to combat plagiarism.
The NPMCN president, Prof. O.B Da Lilly-Tariah, made the disclosure at the 2018 Postgraduate College pre-convocation press briefing in Lagos.
According to the president, the college, as the apex medical institution of higher learning in clinical medicine studies, is conforming with the dictates of the 21st century, hence it’s decision to computerise all its activities.
“In this regard, we have made significant progress. The college now has personalised email accounts for all fellows, just as we accept submissions of proposals and dissertations online.
“Significantly, the college is ready to deploy anti-plagiarism software for all dissertations and proposals.
“The Senate is going to take decision on the applications for levels of plagiarism,” Lilly-Tariah said.
