Provost of the college Malam Mulima Idi Mato, said the initiative was meant to help Fulani herdsmen and other people who are into animal breeding treat their animals, adding that equipment for conducting operations and applying various medicines have been procured for the new veterinary clinic.

“Many animals are slaughtered by the herdsmen because of simple ailments which could not be treated by them while the Fulani also suffer a lot in the hands of quacks who parade themselves as veterinary doctors,” the provost said.

Mulima said the clinic will also serve as a platform for practical purposes for students of the college who are studying various courses including animal health and production, forestry technology, agric technology and basic sciences.
