Big Johnny da talkative is a Nigerian comedian who has performed his jokes in many cities in Nigeria and also in Europe. One of his fantastic performances in the UK is at the 2024 “Jokes and Laff” held at The Place Theatre, Bedford. On the 3rd of July, 2024, before a lively audience with diverse nationalities, Bigjohny da talkative again thrilled all with his stand-up comedy skills. The hall’s atmosphere is of euphoria and energy. His confident presence, calm voice, and an irresistible aura that’s naturally funny add to the joyful mood of the audience.

The stage, a platform to many creatives, especially comedians like Bigjohny da Talkative, became a haven, with his name even bearing a sense of delight. One of Bigjohny da talkative’s jokes was about the disparity in the answers of a white person (a Brit) and a Nigerian in their creation of wealth story in their businesses, which is a tricky but funny one. He specifically notes that the wealthy White (a Brit) would give a breakdown from the beginning, “…I started with two eggs and one chicken…… had investors…” Then, the comedian jokingly tells the audience to ask a Nigerian man the same question. He would say, “We give God the glory.” The Nigerians won’t go on so straight with their answers.

Also, in most Nigerian homes, it is very common that parents believe that children should go to schools and become very important in stereotypical fields. On the stage, he said that a child in any Nigerian home can only be five things: A president, a doctor, a banker… or a disappointment.” The audience all laughed so hard. As a Nigerian, many parents believe that children in other fields are not doing what they want or cannot make more money. At the mention of “Disappointment,” that personification cracked up the audience. However, some who are British and of other nationalities find it shocking but still very funny.

Big Johnny da talkative pours himself into his performance. With the use of his facial expression, comported gestures, and very creative use of his language, he did not just thrill his audience; he also passed some information. His confidence is unmatched. This shows a comedian with great experiences. The audience laughed because Bigjohny da talkative is an astute comedian.

While some comedians struggle to appeal to multicultural audiences, Bigjohny’s performance showed that he had studied his audience before then which made his jokes easily understood by most nationalities. Half way into his performance, he made a joke about Nigerians not being bold enough when it comes to explaining the growth of their riches, this was funny and really tricky, but his creativity saved the day.

Bigjohny’s performance is nothing short of magnificence. His many years of experience as a comedian make it easy for him to perform better. His jokes are not just to be laughed at. They are to be pondered upon, too, and this makes him a complete comedian. Bigjohny’s communication skills are superb. From his verbal communication to his nonverbal, he was able to use all he’s got to make his performance very comical and, at the same time, relevant.
