Stand-up comedienne, Helen Paul said she learnt a lesson from ‘Arms and the Man’, written by George Bernard Shaw.
“Sometimes we celebrate the wrong people and reject those we should celebrate because we don’t know the real story,” Paul said, adding that she read the book up to three times because she keeps learning from it. She has a habit of visiting her old books. That was how she got that important message she didn’t get earlier.
“We later come to the realisation that these are the people we should be celebrating. So I learnt and got a prayer point from there,” she said and gave an example of someone like Obasanjo whom people now praise and say, without him they wouldn’t have the phone. “In the book, mediocrity was celebrated.”
