Commercial agriculture project resumes in Kano after 16 months absence

Revealing this in his presentation during the first post-restructuring of the 10th project implementation support mission in the state, Task Team Leader of the project, El-Hadj Adama Toure, said that Kano State is known for its commercial and agricultural activities, especially the production of groundnuts, and for its solid minerals deposit.
He said that before the suspension of the project in the state, CADP had recorded notable achievements, especially with regard to productivity, value-addition and marketed surplus.
He added that small and medium commercial farms will benefit many households through access to farm roads, energy and markets opportunities.
The beneficiaries were operating in the selected value chains and have already been aggregated into informal commodity interest groups.
He urged poultry farmers, who have incurred huge losses during the recent Avian Flu influenza outbreak in the state, to participate in the programme.
