Two men who allegedly stole a she-goat belonging to a community in Ondo State have been remanded in prison custody by an Okitipupa magistrate court.
The accused persons – Ayebiwo Oyekanmi, a commercial motorcylist and Tosin Omotewe, a barber – were alleged to have conspired with some other persons still at large to steal the N25,000 goat, property of the Ode-Aye community in Okitipupa local government.
Police prosecutor, Sergeant Olaniyan Adekunle, said the incident occurred on May 15, 2019 at about 7.30pm.
Oyekanmi and Omotewe, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.
Magistrate D.O. Ogunfuyi granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N50,000, with two sureties in the like sum and adjourned the case till June 19, 2019.
Ogunfuyi then ordered that they should be remanded in prison custody until they perfect their bail conditions.
