Inaugurating the committee in Abuja,  supervising minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development Mohammed Sada  said  it is time for the world to take stock and address the problems facing the world`s cities and towns, where an increasing proportion of the population resides.
He expressed optimism that Habitat III conference will help examine the changing structure, form and functionality of towns and cities and re-strategize for 21st century.
He said, “Today`s inauguration of Nigeria’s National Habitat committee is aimed at ensuring that we contribute positively to these global process.”
