According to Maryam Okediran, the Chairman of the Ebedi Board of Directors, the three writers, who were selected from a long list of applicants for their rich literary background and the high potentials of their works in progress, are expected to use their time in Ebedi not only to write but to also interact with students of selected secondary schools in Iseyin and environs.

The residents, who are expected to be in residency for 6 weeks starting from January 13, will be accommodated in a 4 bedroom en suite bungalow in a serene environment in Iseyin with free board, meals, medical and local expenses.

Doreen Baingana whose short story, ‘Tropical Fish’ won the Commonwealth Short Story Competition and a well travelled writer will be the first International Writer to grace the three year old residency program.

Apart from developing their works in the residency, the three writers are expected to assist in mentoring new and emerging Nigerian young writers.
