The Ward Head of Ugwan Bido, Hussaini Garki and Ardo Gamu of Jagindi in Jema’a Local Government Area have appealed to the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Nigeria Early Recovery Initiative (NERI) to provide them with portable drinking water and support the community neighbourhood watch.

The communities also urged the local government council to support the closest health clinic in Jagindi and help facilitate the resettlement of the displaced victims of the crisis.

The community leaders were speaking during the visit of council Chairman, Peter Danjuma Averik, who led officials of SEMA, NERI and members of the Southern Kaduna Joint Peace Committee to the communities to assess the level of damages done during the last crisis.

Danjuma Averik called on the people to be patient, tolerant and embrace one another in love irrespective of tribal, religious and party differences. He cautioned people against taking laws into their hands and advised them to report grievances done to them to traditional leaders and other constituted authorities.

Also speaking, the Executive secretary SEMA, Abubakar Hassan pleaded with both communities to forgive one another and forge a better relationship in the interest of peace and development.
