Gunduwawa and other communities residing along Hadejia road in Gezawa local government area of Kano state have expressed delight over return of speed control bumps on the busy road that links Kano toJigawa state.
The spokesman of Gunduwawa community, Malam Ibrahim Burga said removal of the speed control bumps some months back caused sleepless night to the residents of major communities along the road.
“Following the removal of the bumps, several lives were lost due to over-speeding by drivers shuttling between Kano and Jigawa states. We have to draw the attention of the authority on the dangers posed by the removal of the bumps.
“Innocent lives were wasted every week due to series of accidents. We are happy that the speed-bumps have been re-erected on the road. The development is going to save lives of many people.
“We have to appreciate the role played by Assistance Corp Commandant of the Nigerian Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in-Charge of Hadejia Road, Iliyasu Isa and the Gezawa Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Abdullahi Azare. These officers have contributed immensely in ensuring safety of lives along the road,” Burga said.
