Community constructs 2.5km road to reduce accident

Kutigi Development Platform and Grassroots Support Initiative has constructed a 2.5km kilometre road that connects many farming communities from Kutigi town to Tasha-Hajiya in Lavun LGA of Niger State to ease movement of farm produce to various markets in the area.

Residents said the construction of the sandy road had assisted in reducing the rate of accidents among commuters mostly caused by heaps of sand.

The co-chairman of the association, Alhaji Muhammad Nda, made this known during the maiden annual general meeting and presentation of community service awards  to members of the community who distinguished themselves in the community service in Kutigi, the headquarters of Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State. 

He said the association had also built the capacity of over 100 youths to be self-reliant while efforts were being made in the areas of security awareness and rehabilitation of youths that are into hard drugs.
