Kiru said the initiative, which is in the interest of the community, cost N16 million. The brothel was purchased at the cost of N5 million, renovation cost N5 million, while equipping gulped N6 million.
She explained that staffing and other basic facilities, such as water and power supply will be taken care of by the local government. She said converting the brothel to a health facility is commendable as it will ease the suffering of residents who initially had to travel to a long distance before accessing a primary healthcare centre.
Also speaking, the state Governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, commended the community for initiating the idea of converting a brothel, where all sorts of illicit activities were being carried out, to a health facility which will go a long way to enhance healthcare delivery in the community.
