Ogbogba community in Igala-Mela LGA of Kogi State has been provided with electricity after about 36 years of struggle to have the area lit up, Daily Trust on Sunday reports.
The electricity project which was mooted in 1986 remained abandoned over the years until members of the Frontier Club, led by Alhaji Abubakar Sani, complemented the efforts of the community to make the electrification a reality.
Speaking during the inauguration of the project, the community’s monarch, Etemahi Abel Emakoji Etu Ojotu, praised members of the Frontier Club for completing the community, saying it would help in improving the standard of living of his subjects.
The Chairman of Ogbogba Community Development Association (OCDA), Mr Ainoko Stephen, also commended the Frontier Club for making them to actualise their dream of electricity in the community.

Chairman of Frontier Club, Alhaji Abubakar Sani, explained that one of the primary aims of the club was improving human and infrastructural development of needy communities in Igala land.
