He tasked General B. C. Okafor to uphold this tradition started by his predecessors. He added that the hospital which is a state of the art medical facility has contributed in no small measure in the provision of adequate health care to all cadre of people in the state.

Igwe Ibekwe enjoined the military not to relent from its support towards the development of their host communities, adding that major military installations in the state have played vital roles towards the development of the state, “A fact which is glaring for all to see,” he noted.  

“I commend the military for maintaining peace in Kano and sustaining democracy and rule of law in our great country. You have supported strongly the protection of lives and properties in Kano and not just that you have also built the Armed Forces Specialist Hospital, which has been providing good health to people in the state.”  

While commenting, Brigadier General B. C. Okafor stated that his visit to Igwe Ibekwe is in continuation of his familiarity visit to traditional leaders in the state. According to him, traditional institutions are sacred and are held in a high esteem, which prompted the resolve to pay a courtesy visit to traditional leaders in the state.
