Doma made an appearance at the January flag off of the governorship campaign rally in Keffi, but sources close to him said he only honoured the Senate President, David Mark, who insisted he had to be present.
Doma has not shown up at Agabi’s rallies, since then, in what has fuelled speculations that, like former information minister, Labaran Maku who left the PDP because he was aggrieved, he (Doma) may have decided to swell opposition against the party, although without defecting.
Doma himself suffered such internal opposition when he sought re-election in 2011 as party leaders, who were aggrieved by the outcome of the primary elections where their aspirations for tickets to run for various offices suffered manipulations, worked to turn in protest votes against the PDP where he lost the election.
Sources close to him said he is not with the PDP, but insisted that he is neutral in support of the three main governorship candidates, namely Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the APC,  Maku, who is now in APGA and Agabi of the PDP.
“But he is campaigning for President Goodluck Jonathan; that I can tell you because he is supporting the president for re-election,” sources told Daily Trust.
But spokesman of the PDP in the state, Yohanna Mark Neto told Daily Trust in a telephone interview yesterday that Doma’s absence from PDP campaigns may not be because of any grievances, saying: “I am not too sure he has any grudges against the party’s governorship candidate, or the party, because he has none.”
