Chairman Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi said this during the inaugural sitting yesterday.
The delegates would also debate and adopt the conference rules of procedure that day. The rules of procedure document would be given to them on Thursday to allow them scrutinise it.
Jonathan inaugurated the conference Monday, citing some areas to be discussed and those not be dabbled into.
There are 492 delegates attending the conference, mostly selected by the president and state governors.
Kutigi said the conference would be sitting Mondays to Thursdays every week from 10am to 6pm, with two hours break from 2 to 4pm. It will last for 90 days beginning from next week Monday.
The secretariat officials introduced themselves to the delegate, each of them explaining his core functions.
After the introduction of the officials, the conference secretary Dr. Valerie Azinge explained some of the facilities provided for the delegates at the National Judicial Institute.
Delegates also filled forms, indicating their account details and medical history, personal doctors’ phone numbers, among others.
The secretary said the conference would be run democratically. “We will give everybody right of fair hearing when the time comes,” she said.
The delegates’ first meeting was dominated by issues of their welfare, their allowances.
Azinge said on Monday the delegates would be provided with template for memoranda by various stakeholders for consideration.
On whether delegates have separate allowance for personal ides, the secretary said that the conference “budget does not accommodate personal assistants.”
After the end of the sitting, the delegates were provided with conference bags with their names printed on them, which contain conference materials.
